CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - The wife of former North Carolina Sen. and presidential candidate John Edwards has opened a furniture store.

Multiple media outlets report that Elizabeth Edwards opened the store called Red Window in downtown Chapel Hill on Saturday. Edwards says the store will be similar to The Red Door, a charity store her mother managed in Japan.

John Edwards also attended the opening.

Precisely the kind of stuff his hedge fund financed.

Why she keeps company with him is beyond me.

had nothing to do with John Edward's character.

I may stop by there tomorrow and check it out if they're open on Sunday and I'll report back on what I find.

4.  I love this woman
She isn't sitting around waiting for her life to end. She seizes it by the horns and keeps on going. She's an inspiration to me since we have something in common.

You rock, Elizabeth.

as the rest of the state. Our housing market has been hit, but not nearly as negatively as other parts of the country. I went to a Raleigh mall today to take advantage of sales, and the place was MOBBED; short of Christmas, I've never seen it so packed. And judging by the number of shopping bags being toted around, people were spending. Chapel Hill is a college town with a diverse student body, local money, and wealthy retirees -- I imagine she'll do just fine.
