TEARS - he is only worth $4 million now
John McAfee is auctioning off this property in New Mexico to pay bills. His worth has fallen to about $4 million from a peak of about $100 million.

Poor guy.

1. Well, that is a pretty DAMN big hit to take!
He has sold a 10-passenger Cessna jet and now flies coach. This week his oceanfront estate in Hawaii sold for $1.5 million, with only a handful of bidders at the auction. He plans to spend much of his time in Belize, in part because of more favorable taxes there.

Sucks to be him. Still, I WISH I had those kinds of problems.

10. You got that right...
...I love removing McAfee or Norton from computers and watching them speed up measurably.

There are plenty of good free AV programs out there that don't hog resources.

3. the only real work he ever did, apparently, was to develop the antivirus
after that, it was all investment and fooling around with real estate and the stock market.
everybody knows that those involve RISK. so he played and lost, bfd, tfb.

when I went to a casino in Kansas City, I risked some money, made a quick buck on it, and then lost all of that. that's the way gambling works.

4. I wonder how much he paid his financial adviser.
Anyone with millions should have a good financial adviser. Either he did not have one or the guy/gal was a dunbass.

8. Well it's truly bad times when the wealthy lose like this
I can't cheer on this one. Because there are millions suffering far far worse.

11. maybe we can get extreme makeovers to build him a new house
or sumpin.

I mean, come on now, the guy had enough to live on for the rest of his life at a very good standard. GREED KILS

How many people could you help with $100,000,000.00? Maybe buy a small apartment building and help battered spouses, and such?

Gaud, to actually have to fly coach with the unwashed masses, that would ruin anyones' day.
