Will supporters of a Public Option tell Obama "No" on co-ops??
It seems that President Obama has gone out of his way to try to deal with Blue Dogs and attempt to get GOP votes in this health care debate by not taking the co-op scheme off the table. What will happen, however, if supporters of the public option tell the White House that they will not vote for any bill unless it has a public option? Can he get a health care bill without supporters of a Public Option? or will it force him to deal with them too? Can he just continue to ignore supporters of a Public Option??

I'm sorry and I'm a supporter of Obama's, but he has not done a good job handling this health care debate at all. He wants some kind of bi-partisan bill which will NEVER happen. Even with co-ops my guess is that 90% of republicans will still vote against it. He can get a public option if he wants to by reconciliation if nothing else and that only takes 51 votes.

Mr. President, You have a MAJORITY in CONGRESS for real action on Health Care--USE IT. Stop worrying about the Minority.

1. Every republican will vote against anything that comes up for vote.

3. There's only 45 in favor of a public option
He can get a bill without the public option, easily. Could have gotten it a while ago. The House is fighting for the public option, it seems to me. I think the Progressive Caucus may hold the cards on the public option.

We kept thinking he was trying to get a bi-partisan bill with Republicans. The Republicans aren't the problem.

Pryor, Lincoln, Landrieu, 2 Nelsons, Conrad, Byrd, Tester, Baucus, and even Wyden and Feinstein. They're the problem.

5. Then why doesn't the White House want us to tell these Blue Dogs..
that they are dead dogs if they hold up a public option? Just when people like KO and Rachel and even Dr. Dean started to name names and call them on their selling out to Big Health, the President pulled everyone back.

6. Their constituents don't like liberals
It would probably help most of these particular Blue Dogs to be attacked by Moveon, for starters, which wouldn't help pass a public option. But when they have to run against a Republican and the the Democratic Party has been successfully connected to the far left, they will lose to Republicans next time.

They are fighting for a means of making a public option work without unending tax hikes. In the long run, they might well be helping us.
