The co-op is a cop-out.
One man is to blame for the health care reform fiasco: Harry Reid. What kind of Senate majority leader allows the Senate to go on recess before finishing their work. And the work of this Senate was to prepare a bill proposal on health care.

Harry Reid's personal incompetence has rendered those of us who support health care reform unable to present a strong case for it. How can you argue for something when you really don't know what it is? And without a bill, we don't know what we are talking about.

Please phone Harry Reid first thing tomorrow morning and let his office know. And let your senators know that Harry Reid needs to go. The health care controversy is his fault. He is to blame. He is the only one to blame. He really let Americans down.

2. Ever seen a "co-op" since the 60's that really made any difference
in the price or anything else?

4. Reid's is wimp for sure, but.......
Don't forget about Max Baucus who headed a bipartisan? 3/3 committee, and he (Baucus) wouldn't even allow single-payer a mention, and with him (Baucus) being a prime recipient of health industry lobby donations. And with him (Baucus) counting himself as a Democrat. It was a farce.

You can't give the President and his staff a pass on this either. They primed it as bipartisan knowing Rethugs were not going to support a Public plan. They maintained there would be transparency and there were secret meetings with BigPharm instead. They are still maintaining bipartisanship by now dropping the Public Plan for a watered down Coop. Huge failure in leadership from the Senate and the Executive.

5. The coop will be funded, from what I understand, with taxpayer's money.
It's another way for the for profit health care industry to get corporate welfare. You can be sure they will be the first to jump in with their plan once they have the money. Any real grass roots coops won't get to first base.
