Has President Obama shown enough leadership on the health care issue? After all, it's his issue and
was the major issue of his campaign. Why didn't he send his own legislation to the Hill?

1. No!
Big mistake, not defining, at least an outline, what he expects.

his first "leadership" act was to announce the death of single payer, long before debate ever even began, and conveniently frame the debate in the insurance industry's terms. His second "leadership" act was to compromise the "public option"--with the weaker party!--before ever even negotiating. His third "leadership" act was to negotiate secretly with Pharma and guarantee them trillions of dollars of profits--including INCREASED profits--over the next 10 years.

He never showed any commitment to real reform. Now he's had a couple of too-little-too-late townhall meetings at which he refuses to commit strongly to real reform, and he seems to weaken his own alleged position every time he opens his mouth.

He's the enemy of health care reform. His smiling shuck and jive is wearing thin.

We'll end up with no change to the current insurance system, except that 47 million people will be given shitty coverage by private insurers at public expense--a WINDFALL for sickness insurance corporations, when they should be abolished.

3. No leadership whatsoever or
Grassley and who ever that butthole from Dakota is would not be holding it up.

Axelrod and Emanuel were effective campaign advisors. As policy advisors, they have been utter failures and should never have been given staff appointments in the first place. The fact that they haven't been fired long ago is President Obama's utter failure and ineptitude. It's bad. I have to believe his appointment of Geitner and Summers were equally ill advised.

Not taking anything away from the Rethug Wrecking Crews that have been relentless, Team Obama has let the Right dictate strategy and played defense from day one. As a consequence, the Progressives who wanted to fight the Right have been urged to stifle themselves and watch from the sidelines...in complete dismay and disappointment.
