Joe Scarborough (R-Dead Intern) is a clueless idiot. (Imus thread)
He says the only time Americans really focus on race is when an aging white man says something stupid or when there's a police beating.

Excuse me, Joe, but these are precisely the kinds of events that take the termperature of this country. We have a high fever, dude, and the condition (in this case) is called Chronic Bigotry.

:nuke: :grr:

5. Well, Joe, perhaps that's part of the problem....
We don't deal with the issue of race often enough, and as a result aging white men keep saying stupid things and police beatings keep happening.

6. One of the arguments being bandied about is that Imus shouldn't be...
...held to account because rappers are not similarly held to account for their mysogynistic and racially insensitive lyrics. That is one of the most cynical muddying of the waters I've ever heard. It conspicuously ignores the incredible power of the dominant American demographic, AGING WHITE MEN, to shape the culture.

And the other argument being made in Imus' defense--by himself as well as by others--is that he's really a good person who just happened to say a bad thing. The best response I've heard to that piece of crap is, if Imus should be exonerated, on the basis of that argument, then really good drivers should not be punished just because they run a red light.

I guess that 20 strikes and you're out plan finally caught up with him...
And after a phony bit of contrition, he'd go right back and do it again. :nopity:
