34. If it's going to work, now is the time.
MSNBC and CBS firing Imus is powerful ammo, and Glenn Beck is the perfect target. I'd love to dislodge Rusty Limpdick and will do all I can, but I think getting him off the airwaves will be an uphill battle. CNN should be held to the same standard as MSNBC and CBS.

I've book marked the thread you linked to and will contact Beck's sponsors tomorrow. Thanks for that link. :hi:

10. O'Reilly talking about the boy that was abducted by the child molester does it for me.
His saying how the boy was enjoying being with this kid because he didn't have to go to school and that he could have run away comes real close.

31. O'Reilly said, and I quote:
Edited on Thu Apr-12-07 01:09 PM by ronnie624
"The situation here for this kid, looks to me to be a lot more fun, than what he had under his old parents(!?). He didn't have to go to school. He could run around, do whatever he wanted. There was an element here, that the kid liked about his circumstances."

It sounds to me like O'Reilly is saying that the boy enjoyed being kidnapped.

Listening to this cretinous simpleton, attempting to analyze complex psychological phenomena is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

17. That's what I thought too
I've never listened to or watched Imus. All I knew of him till now was that he was a friend of Kerrys and backed him against Bush. Was he a bit of a lefty? If so I think it explains a lot of what has been happening.

19. Here is a little about Don Imus:
April 11, 2007
Imus Struggling to Retain Sway as a Franchise
By JACQUES STEINBERG

That Don Imus can be abrasive and offensive is undeniable, but he is also one of the most successful and influential pitchmen in the history of radio, if not broadcasting.

In the last few weeks, Mr. Imus has provided a forum for a Democratic presidential aspirant, Christopher J. Dodd, to announce his candidacy and promoted a book from Simon & Schuster (“Green This! Volume 1”) that his wife, Deirdre, wrote about cleaning products she conceived. He also pumped sales for a country singer, Martina McBride, and raised millions of dollars for an Army medical facility in Texas.

His program generates in excess of $20 million in annual revenue for CBS Radio, his primary employer, and his flagship New York station, WFAN, according to two people apprised of the show’s finances who spoke on condition of anonymity. When advertising revenue for affiliates and MSNBC, which simulcasts the program, is included, the figure exceeds $50 million. ...

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/11/business/media/11imus.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

That medical facility in Texas, the Center for the Intrepid, benefits from the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund which lists these:

    Benefactors

Mr. Richard L. Fisher and Fisher Brothers
    Amy and Joseph Perella
Mr. Thomas H. Lee and Ms. Ann Tenenbaum
    Columbus Citizens Foundation
    Mr. M. Anthony Fisher
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Marano
    Morgan Stanley
Nelson Peltz / Triarc Companies, Inc.
    Credit Suisse First Boston
The Bank of America Charitable Foundation
    Childrens 104 Family Fund
    Raytheon Company
    Don Imus
    ExxonMobil
    Dematteo Monness LLC
    Computer Sciences Corporation

They're all just as bad if not worse than Imus. At least Imus does some good things for the kids at his ranch. But that just proves that good deeds don't cancel out bad ones.

29. Hear, hear!
In some ways, they are far worse than Imus, because their hate talk is for the purpose of turning "their kind" against anyone who isn't like them. Didn't Coulter call for the assissination of judges? Haven't many of the others urged similar things? What Imus said was despicable, but what those others do is absolutely criminal.

37. Anyone who is partly a decent human being should feel the same.
I agree, no need to cut out their freedoms to hate whom they so choose and to voice it loud but I for one will refuse to buy from anyone who pays good money they make off consumers who pay for such hatefilled on air promotions.
