Just watched the president get off the plane in Montana with family...

...and be greeted by a Democratic governor (Schwietzer) and two Democratic senators (Tester and Baucus).

...from Montana.

Think about that a second. Once again, thank you Howard Dean. Who would've thought that a state like Montana would have a Dem governor and two Dem senators at the same time?

3. Rahm Emanuel wouldn't have given Montana a second thought.
One has to wonder---is his denial of the potential to woo voters to the Democratic Party by showing backbone a willful, self-fulfilling prophesy?

8. More and better Democrats is what we need. We've got the former, need to work on the latter.

9. every time I see Obama in public, I have mixed feelings . . .
on one hand, I'm delighted that we have such an appealing and articulate man as president, and that he enjoys mingling with crowds wherever he goes . . .

one the other hand, I'm terrified that with all the hate speech being fomented by the astroturfers and wingnuts, someone is going to try to do him bodily harm . . . especially now that we've learned that the Secret Service doesn't have enough agents to investigate all of the threats he's receiving . . .

there are people in this country who are either terrified or enraged (or both) that a black man is our president, and more than a few of them are several cards short of a full deck . . . these are the ones who really worry me . . .

10. It's what we used to have before Reagan
In the 70's it was Sen. Mike Mansfield, Sen. Lee Metcalfe, and Gov. Forrest Anderson

11. Indeed. I was thinking as he called on the woman in the cowboy hat yesterday
...The woman who then proceeded neither to call him a communist nor yell at him for being black, how far we've come in the West.
