She was introducing a segment on wingnut rabble-rousing against (supposedly) health care (but we KNOW it's PRO-racism), and she said (something like), (protests) "heard in (this or that place) AND VFW POSTS all across the country!!!!!!!!!!1"

YeSSSSSSSSSsss!1 I have NEVER heard ANYBODY ELSE say this!1

There's this OTHER local radio talkshow host who is retired military officer who is a Birther and all of THAT, and who is, of course, against health care reform WITHOUT mentioning HIS OWN super publically funded health care, and who claims OBAMA's SECOND swearing-in was without a Bible BECAUSE HE DOESN'T BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE, while refusing to asnwer whether HIS OWN swearing-in as a career officer was with or without a BIBLE (and he doesn't capitalize "bible").

I have often posted about my disgust with veterans' baiting/PANDERING by wingnut politicians and WIMPY politicians of ALL stripes, DISGUST with wingnut veterans politicizing their medals, and wingnut veterans FRAGGING honorable Dem politician vets, not to mention uninformed vets who HELP wingnutism by NOT VOTING while crediting wignuts and reaping benefits that LIBS got for them.

9. Don't know about "joining" but the SACRED, SAINTED WW II vets hated our asses.

Even just a couple of years ago, at a flea market there was this merchant there with a U.S. Navy cap on. I had my own on. I beamed, and went up to him and extended my hand to shake hands, and said, "Hello, shipmate!1"

He didn't put out his hand. He said, "I was in the BIG war."

Steam shot out of my ears and I GRABBED his hand and said, "GIVE ME YOUR FUCKING HAND!1"

My Father found out later that the guy spent WWII as a paper pusher and probably never even picked up his Rifle.
So..Just because a person was in WWII doesn't (always) mean they were some kind of Hero... :)

Guess what, not EVERY thread posted in GD is worth EITHER a Rec OR an UnReKKK!1 And I myself said many times during the Great Debate on UnRekkk that I never look at the Greatest Page and regard it mostly as a tool for Visitors, like media types, who don't have the time to spend in the entrails of GD, but how I DO a lot of Rec-ing (obviously, for OTHERS), both for merit and to keep worthy topics from falling through the cracks.

about socialism and the "liberals" - and when I would offer a counterpoint he'd say "Did YOU ever serve your country?" You know, like that's license to be considered a superior citizen who must have special rights. I responded, with a touch of anger.. ."No. I didn't. And I didn't because I couldn't. He was taken aback for a minute - especially since he suddenly had to deal with 'da gay" thing. But I had just enough anger and resentment in my voice that he shut himself up.
