First and foremost, rightwing fanatics LIE
They will lie to your face and they will lie to themselves. Even when confronted by the truth, they twist and turn furiously in order to avoid it.

Once they realize that the lies are no longer working, they will turn to conflict fueled by frustration.

Second, they are experts at manufacturing victimhood for themselves when there is no proof of harm, or the proof is incredibly weak.

This is because that they are afraid of everything that is different. If they can't understand some thing or idea, their first response to declare that that thing or idea is out to get them.

Gay marriages will destroy straight marriages. Brown people with funny accents are out to destroy American society. Barack Obama is out to kill my granny. Blah blah motherfucking blah... You know the routine.

Next, they are pretty damn good at taking things completely out of context. So even when looking at any given situation, their fears and prejudices are wont to take control.

They are also highly susceptible to high charged propaganda that fits and supports their fears and prejudices. They are incapable of distinguishing the propaganda from actual facts and if anything, this denotes a woefully underdeveloped capacity for emotional and intellectual maturity.

That explains their penchant for anti-intellectualism. Since they aren't capable of emotional and intellectual maturity, then they are quick to ridicule ans dismiss it.

They are highly prone to hypocrisy. The double standard is their bread and butter.

Being misogynistic, nativistic and racist comes very easy to them. And even when confronted with what they are, they come up with what they think are pretty good excuses for being like that. History, tradition, the Bible, a gun... You know what I mean.

On and on and on and on...

Damn, it really sucks to be one of those motherfucking losers.

2. They're afraid of so much, they're like children
The big, bad scary world is out to get them, so they act like innocents who are are subjected to the cruelest punishments for no reason at all.

It's really getting old.

And the rest of the world is looking at Americans behaving like this and are shaking their heads in bewilderment.

If the fringe elements of society can get this much attention while rational discussion is shut down... where is this going?

3. It really worries me.
Society is held together by barely 10% of humanity. The rest are so prone to base animal insecurity, they would tear everything apart out of fear.

That 10% has been slowly eroding as the greed-based corporations get greater control.

6. Back when I was in Texas, I didn't care about politics or any of this shit
But one night, at a poetry reading in Austin, I had a conversation with an Chilean exile.

At that time I was woefully uninformed about what Pinochet had done to Chile and what the American government had done to help his crimes.

This man, who had escaped from being disappeared into a Chilean hell hole knew that I was in the military, because I had told him. Despite that, he was not angry and my woeful ignorance, but instead simply asked me to learn for myself about what happened there.

It was like a wake up call to me. I had to find the truth about things. Question and learn.

Years later, while I was stationed at the Pentagon, I took it upon myself to get a political education of the first order.

The rest, as they say, is history.
