A while back (make that a long while back) I was associated with some musicians. Local wannabe thug was always doing his mega loud car thing. Two of my colleagues broke out their bagpipes and got it my old college convertible. As we pulled along side of his mobile noisemaker and blew he and his fellow wannabes away with Scotland the Brave. They did not take it well

I simply don't understand. (I'm also not curious about this point, so I'm not going to make any effort to understand.)

I suspect that I might understand if I knew the words to their raps. It might be that Imus is apologizing for insulting a black woman when rappers insult black women more often and to a greater degree every day, not with impunity, but with adulation.

Or it might be something related to the group's history, any fights or arrests or other problems.

Or it might be something else altogether different.

But at least you're asking the right question, rather than making assumptions.
