Our old friend, HOWARD FINEMAN. Where is MWO when we need them?
Fineman was one of Imus's biggest enablers. He was on the show constantly. And he was the second of the media elite to come to Imus' defense, on his show, after his second apology. He was followed by every white male politico and powerful pundit we heard from (until Obama today, who is not a white male, of course).

Today, Fineman was immediately on MSNBC when the announcement came that MSNBC would no longer simulcast the show. Well, he had been on vacay, didn't really know what was going on, had committed to appearing -- yada, yada, yada.

In the end there was a force that trumped the politicos and the pols. Two, actually. One was an outraged segment of the public, especially after we saw the young women of Rutgers. And two, were the corporations. Someone very close to me is immersed in the TV world. She just said, "When you've lost General Motors, you're done."

1. MWO?
I have long had a feeling that at least one of them has a featured blog over in Josh MarshallVille.

Just a guess.

This is a great day for the beginning of the end of the hatemongers on our airwaves!

3. Waiting for them all to call in contritely to *ucker's show.
They will all deny, deny, deny. One of them has been strangely silent. Timmy from MTP. Timmy was a frequent flyer on the Ipig's show. I remember him trashing the local officials from New Orleans on Ipig's show. Just like KKKarl ordered. Whatever will Timmy do now?

4. I miss MWO, too
They were a dazzling spotlight in the middle of the blackest time in our history, IMHO.

I hope they're still quietly doing work behind the scenes.

7. I Realize This Is Irrelevant....But.....Fineman Is Left Of Center
He's one of the Countdown commentators I look forward to hearing from. More so than Milbank or Ciliza.

14. That's new. He won the late MediaWhoresOnline award...
for Media Whore of the year. There was a time when he was awful -- I remember him actually rhapsodizing on the silver belt buckle Bush wore on the ranch. I agree, though, that that stuff is now over for Fineman.

8. Imus ran the Good 'Ole White Boys Club don't ya know
I read a great article about it, but now I can't find it about how Imus' show was like a club for all these white guys - politicos, news stenographers (aka journalists), etc. and now the walls are crashing in on them. As far as I'm concerned, Imus is just the first in a long line of these people in the media - including Howard the Duck.

16. Get over to JMM's website(s)...
There is someone over there who has long done media review. Was at The American Prospect. Now is at Josh's House. Read. Ponder the writing style.

Then look at the title.

22. Who is JMM?
Are you talking about Josh Marshall. Who is the person you are talking about? PM me if you don't want to say here on the thread.

I've been dying to find whoever wrote the old "Media Whore's Online."

Glad to know you are an alumni of that site..back from the days when we had so little to keep us going.

18. Like Forever!
"Out to pasture"..I use to go over there starting in 2002 every day..and was so bummed when they pulled up shop.

Guess it got to be too much for them.

Thankfully we have David Brock's Mediamatters and buzzflash.

Maybe not the same people but they have filled that niche pretty well. Easier to read too.

21. You mean Howard Slitherman/Slimeman? He's under the rock he goes under
when anything "kinda dirty" touches his reptilian skin. He might loose his ooze and not be able to slither anymore.
