Michele Bachmann's son is now teaching at a "re-education camp"
It has to sting right now for Rep. Michele Bachmann.

Here's what Bachmann said about President Obama's plan to expand AmeriCorps, a program that puts young adults to work making the world a better place by teaching disadvantaged kids and helping the poor:

" under the guise of quote, volunteerism, but it's not volunteers at all," she said on the Sue Jeffers radio show in April. "It's paying people to do work on behalf of government. There are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people get trained in the philosophy the government puts forward and then they have to go work in these politically correct forums.

"As a parent, I would have a very, very difficult time seeing my children do this."

You've probably guessed by now that Bachmann's son, Harrison Bachmann, recently joined Teach for America (TFA), one of the programs under the AmeriCorps umbrella.

If you read the article at the link the story gets even better, it turns out that when Michele Bachmann warned us of AmeriCorps "re-education camps" her son had already applied for a teaching position with AmeriCorps.

8. Give the kid a break
It's obvious the smarts are in his paternal genes.

10. His father is a "therapist" who tries to heal teh gays.
This kid somehow mutated into a new, improved, intelligent Bachmann.

12. Maybe he was adopted
Either that, or if dumbness skips a generation, his kids are going to be Palin-class morons.

2. What must holidays be like at that crazy lady's house?
Does she entertain her family with her loony ravings, or are they all that way? Of course, we all know that her husband will have picked out her outfits.

6. Oh, bloo...
ever the optimist. I fear never the twain shall meet: Bachmann & peace. Just imagine a day inside of her head. Ow.

13. I love those Americorps kids!!
Am involved in an environmental issue where we set up a booth at vaarious fairs around our county. At the Earth Day celebration the Americorps kids were on duty to help everyone set up and take down their booths. They walked around the area checking to see if and when anyone needed help.
They made a happy world that day!!

Can you imagine having to cope with parents like his? It's nice to see he can think for himself.

17. Any program that teaches empathy is the enemy of the wingnuts. Any program, any
idea. When altruism is probably one of man's greatest evoluntionary traits... and the whole GOP is out to defeat it. Despots around the world try and do that too.

Someone needs to ask the GOP what is their problem with empathy.
