Sen. Brownback town hall: "The biggest threat to this great country is Obama, period"

http://www.tonganoxiemirror.com/news/2009/aug/12/brownback-talks-health-care-gitmo-fairgrounds/

<snip>

Another person attending the gathering, Chuck Schaaff of Lenexa, spoke of his overall frustration with the Obama administration.

“The biggest threat to this great country is Obama, period,” Schaaff said. “We’ve gotta get him out.”

...

Republican Party chairman John Bradford then grabbed the microphone and said activity was needed at the grass-roots level and that people shouldn’t come home each night to watch “American Idol.”

“Get off your butt and make the system work,” Bradford said.

...

“They need to get off the couch, put down their beers and let’s get it done,” he said.

6. Yes, and Senator Brownback called him on this statement, didn't he?
He demanded specifics as to why President Obama is "the biggest threat", didn't he?

Oh, that's right, he didn't.

He's just another Republican lion-tamer with folding chair and a licorice whip who thinks he's in charge.

7. Yikes. (Letting go is tough.)
Not that I feel sorry for the people who can't cope, but to me, this is all part of the nastiness of their denial.

8. It is one thing for RWingnuts to make crazy irrational statements,
but it is time the Republican Party Leaders to have a talk
with Senators and Congressmen. More is expected of Senators
and Congressmen.

Brownbeck has a right to criticize any policy.

These CongressPeople know that there is a racial component
in most of these "uprisings" or whatever you may call them.

These people are in a high state of anxiety. Trade Policies
have sent their jobs overseas. Financial Crisis has lost
30 Million jobs so far along with the Globalization Crisis.
Many have lost lots in 401 K s. They know our country is
financially strapped. This is enough to make any American
anxious.

For the Wingnuts, add to to this: For many of them, having
a Black President is threatening.
"I want my Country back" I want to go back to the Constitution"
Some make no bones about it. The whole business with the Birthers
has nothing to do with the Birth Certificate. We know darn well
that because of political correctness, they pick something
like Birth Cert. to really say , This Black Man is an illegitmate
President. They are faced with the "Browning of America"
and this has them rattled. "I want to back to the Consitution."

I have to chuckle. I love the Founders so do not take this
wrong.
In the days of Founders we were and Elitist Society. Only the
monied and Land Owners had power. Only they could vote.
Sorry Folks, but you would be low man on the totum pole there
too.

My Point: The Republican Congressmen and Senators have a responsiblity
not to encourage this by saying Obama is the problem. I do not
believe Brownback is racists. He is encouraging those followers
who are. This is immoral.

to this country. So Brownass saying that Obama has defeated terrorism. Wow, Bush couldn't stop the biggest threat to America for 8 years and Obama managed to do it in just a couple months. Brilliant.
