http://www.examiner.com/x-7732-AntiEstablishment-Examiner~y2009m8d7-White-supremacist-sisters-seek-to-promote-white-Christian-RevivalIn this day and age it is hard to believe radical white supremacists still occasionally run around wearing white hoods and burning crosses.
One might think that such beliefs are well on their way out, but it turns out some of these people can be highly successful at completely brainwashing the next generation. One such example are the Pendergraft sisters, Charity and Shelby, who sing white supremacist songs and maintain a blog about their White Christian activities.
One post talks about how terrible Martin Luther King Day is. Charity writes,
I don't like all the demonstrations they have for Martin Luther King. I feel sorry for all the kids that believe he was a good man. They do not know that all the Communists are trying to bring all races together and destroy our racial purity and bring an end to our constitutional rights and beliefs.
It is interesting to note that what she finds abhorrent about communism seems not to be that they believe in the elimination of personal and economic freedoms, but that they allegedly promote the unity of races. Charity mentions that she celebrates Robert E. Lee's birthday instead, but it is unclear how a major leader in the secessionist movement better represents the constitutional rights she purports to value.
The Pendergraft sisters come from a line of racists. Their grandfather was a veteran Klansman and leader of the Arkansas-based Knights Party. Their mother is also a spokeswoman for the Klan group. They attend youth group meetings around the country to promote "white Christian Revival."
