"Despite all evidence to the contrary, House Democrats continue to falsely accuse former Bush administration official Karl Rove of wrongdoing in the dismissal of several U.S. attorneys. But the interviews reveal no evidence of wrongdoing in the firings," said the Judiciary Committee's ranking GOP member, Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/08/11/us.attorneys/index.htmlFalsely accuse? Remember, this is the same Rep. Lamar Smith(R-TX) who voted to impeach Bill Clinton over a blowjob (I'll get back to that thought in a moment).
Here is what the emails and testimony of Rove PROVE (it's not just about accusations anymore). Rove says in
sworn testimony, that it was his aide, Scott Jennings, who was "freelancing" the firing of US attorney Iglesias. Forget perjury for a moment, trying to push the blame over to a subordinate when it was clearly he who was behind it is just downright evil, and firing a US attorney because they wouldn't use their official position to start a false prosecution of a political rival is also downright evil.
We're talking about real perjury folks, and to the House Judiciary Committee no less. We're not talking about misleading testimony about a blowjob in a civil case that doesn't rise to the level of perjury. We're taking about real perjury that was part of an attempt to cover up true evil. So Rep. Lamar Smith(R-TX) thought that spending $100 million for an investigation that lasted nearly a decade and couldn't even produce one single indictment of Clinton was OK, but nothing less than a pack of baldfaced lies before the House Judiciary Committee while under oath, is just a which hunt.
What an asshole.
