If you blow it now.........you WILL NEVER GET IT....
I sit here from over 4000 miles away from America(Land of my birth)and am just astounded by the crap I see spewed across the American news channels and programs about the mere thought of Universal Health Care. I'll be blunt...........if you screw this chance up for Universal Health Care in America you are more than likely passing up your last chance to ever get it.....right now 50 million Americans do not have health insurance and proper access to health care. Those ARE 3RD WORLD NUMBERS FOLKS!!!

I keep hearing people whining about losing their control over their health care and I just want to scream BULLSHIT.

Socialized medicine does not necessarily mean you lose your control over your health care. I live in a country with socialized medicine and I am here to tell you that we can still take out private insurance (At a fraction of the cost you pay in the States btw) and jump ahead of the ques so many people fear when it comes to socialized medicine. The fear and ignorance I have seen spouted by the opponents to Universal Health Care that we all know has been organized by 'special interests' incenses me.

Yes, you can find horror stories with socialized medicine just as you can with private health care. All I can say is SHIT HAPPENS with every system..........if you look long enough and hard enough you will always find it no matter where you look.

I've lived with both systems and I'm here to tell you, Universal Health Care where everyone has access to it is better overall for everyone and if you want to pay the additional money (about 1/4th what you would pay in the states, the private system available to you if you want it is just as good and probably better).

So go on and blow the last damned chance to get health care for all. But don't expect me to sit by the next time you spout off with the "America is the greatest country on earth in the history of the world" mantra. Because it just ain't so and it's a damned stupid boast.

2. "Never" is a long time and eventually this system will financially collapse
and then it will be a big mess to clean up. Never underestimate Americans' ability to work against their own self interests.

6. But, but, but
single payer is dead and we should just be happy to take some kind of public option. After all it is a step in the right direction.

I'm being facetious of course. Health care reform is my line in the sand. Any candidate who will not support single payer - or even consider it a viable option worthy of consideration - will not be getting my vote in the next election. There may not be anyone deserving of my vote. No way am I ever again voting for the best of two bad choices. I'll vote for a candidate or I'll not vote.

7. You said it. Americans are ruled by fear and TeeVee, so when the TeeVee
tells them to be afraid of something, well... just look at the idiocy surrounding this issue and how successfully they've distracted us from any real solution.

8. Exactly.....
If FAUX News tells them to be afraid..........it's like a herd of sheep going to slaughter.

All sheep share a common destiny.
