Gun Dropped At Town Hall Meeting As SEIU Receives Threat

We’ve had violence. We have guns. We have a threat that “you all are gonna come up against the Second Amendment.” How long before there is gun violence? That became a very real threat at a town hall meeting conducted by Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (pictured). One visitor to a recent meet-and-greet dropped a gun, resulting in aides calling the police with safety concerns.

They need to stop this craziness now, since the wackos are itching to spark some serious violence. They are dangerously moving from words to action. And someone should demand the Limbaugh's and Glenn Beck's fanning these flames in the airwaves need to immediately tone it down.

10. Color me less than worried

Yeah, it's possible some idjit is going to use this as an excuse for haulin' out the shootin' arns. But if it wasn't this, it would be something else, in my opinion. The solution begins with confronting our society's infatuation with violence as a method of dealing with problems, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. The High Church of Redemptive Violence is a very powerful force in the United States.

I can say with confidence that meeting firepower with firepower will decidedly not lead to a resolution. Sad to say, more blood will be shed, probably a lot more, to get us to come to grips with the destructive forces of greed and violence that run so much of our culture.
