Top Insurance Lobbyist: Dem "Vilification" Could Kill Reform
The chief of the insurance industry's top lobbying group is telling The Associated Press that the battle over reshaping the nation's health care system will be decided during this month's congressional recess.

Karen Ignagni, president of America's Health Insurance Plans, told AP reporters and editors Monday that if the "vilification" of her industry by the White House and top congressional Democrats continues, August will be a lost chance to persuade voters that health overhaul is needed.

Ignagni said, "We think health care reform is going to be won or lost in August."

Insurers say they favor bipartisan changes in the health system, but strongly oppose Democratic proposals for optional, government-run health coverage.

Are you talkin' to me??????????

Tell you what I say. Screw you and all your little evil friends. You don't give a damn about reform, and you never did. This is just some new way for you to try and game the system for more money.

SINGLE PAYER NOW!

For some reason, I am over even a public option. I didn't think I could get any madder.

1. I'm with you, like we CARE that the insurance lobby is upset?
Of course, you're upset, we have uncovered your unholy profit motives, and threaten to keep you from getting richer.

16. It's all wink wink, nudge nudge anyway. Misdirection to make it appear they aren't running the show.

5. This is one industry that should be ignored
completely on any form of health reform. They are behind ALL of the astroturf protesting. Take one look at who would be hurt by any real reform and it falls square on the shoulders of greedy assholes like Ignanti and everyone she associates with.

7. The "vilification" they are getting now will be nothing compared to
what will happen if meaningful reform fails to pass.

10. How 'bout you stop acting like villians first?
Everybody's so touchy about what they're called by the progressives. Maybe if they stopped crapping on progressives, we would stop the name calling.

12. The poor Insurance/health industry is only paying $1.5 per DAY to fight reform.
Heard on BBC "The World Today" yesterday.

14. She should be worried about health insurance reform -
she doesn't look any too healthy, to me. She could find herself cut off from getting decent care by the insurance company that she works for.
