And it's stunning how similar the opposition to the Clinton health care reform is to what's happening today. The reaction is EXACTLY the same, by the EXACT same people. It's unbelievable.

Once again Moore is way ahead of the curve. His predictions are dead on.

1. If we had a media with a liberal bias it would be on ABC, NBC and CBS
as a joint venture. TMC? Shit. Not even HBO or Showtime. Not even fucking PBS.

Liberal media my ass.

2. Absolutely.
I'm sure it's not a matter of Moore charging too much for his film. I'm guessing he would let the mainstream channels air it for free.

The time is RIGHT NOW.

5. Doubtful
Since Moore isn't the only one who invested in and ultimately distributed the film.

But it can be watched for free on this site:

6. If the media were liberal, they would make sure people were fairly compensated
Lots of meetings and stuff. With coffee and treats. No need to do it for free, and reasonable compromise would be reached.

4. Can't have the dominant outlet for dispensing data to the public planting seeds...
...that counter vested interests (who likewise have a huge stake in the M$M)

3. Anybody who thought this would sail through is naive
because the industry has been so profitable that they're willing to risk almost everything to fight reform tooth and nail.

The anger against insurance companies out here in workaday land is much greater than it was in 1993, though, so their success is far less assured.

Anger is also growing at their manipulation of the stupid and their use as brown shirts to destroy public dialogue and input.

Remember also that no matter how much money the insurance giants are squandering to fight this, the captains of industry are also talking to Congress and they're the ones who really want reform. Having to pay for profit insurance companies who don't cover their employees adequately is a double burden, weighing the bottom line down with costs that rise a ridiculous amount every year while depriving them of employees who receive inadequate care. They have little stake in continuing the present system and are in favor of reform.

At this point, I doubt reform will be abandoned completely the way it was in 1993. How it shapes up is anyone's guess. Even national Masscare will initially cover more people than the present non system, although its long term success is extremely unlikely and this whole thing will have to be revisited within ten years with exactly the same rhetoric from the insurance giants.

We'll have to see, though, if the real abuses being committed by for profit insurance are abolished. Making for profit insurance a lot less profitable might be the most necessary first step.

7. Watching this movie again in the current context of the deather movement is maddening.
I can't believe what I'm seeing. I am so fucking angry.

This film needs to be seen by every American. I'm writing an email to Moore right now.
