Turner Network Television (TNT) is running despicable fake Better Government Assocation ads
a right wing swift boat group that has stolen a good government group's name to run ads accusing Obama of wanting to create a socialist health care system, dramatically raise taxes and deny people access to health care via "rationing".

They gave out a fake website address in the ad belonging to the real 83 year old good government advocacy group and what I assume was a real telephone #.

I want to urge everyone to contact TNT and threaten them with a sponsor boycott until they stop running these despicable ads!

The original group has had to take down their website and is filed a lawsuit against the imposters:

Better Government Association Sues Group With Name

Lawsuit: Ohio-Based Right Wing Group Has Taken BGA's NameCHICAGO (STNG) ―
CBS

So which is the better Better Government Association?

An independent, non-partisan political watchdog group formed in Chicago in 1923 does not want to be confused with a highly-partisan new group out of Akron, Ohio, also calling itself the Better Government Association.

The Akron-based group recently took out a full-page ad in USA Today claiming "Barack Obama ... and the Democrats did not inherit the bad economy; they caused it and made it worse ... They now want to bankrupt the nation with socialized medicine and socialism energy taxes."

The 86-year-old BGA has gotten calls and letters from people -- some angry -- who saw the ad, so the Chicago group is asking a federal court to prevent the Ohio group from any further activity which could cause such confusion.

The BGA filed a lawsuit in federal court in Chicago on Monday asking for a permanent injunction against the Ohio group.

According to the new group's Web site, "The Better Government Association exists to counter today's assault on conservatism and capitalism. Essentially, it will provide the organization and drive necessary to reverse the forces that threaten our nation's economic heritage." ..snip...

1. just saw an ad
vile, full of lies and horrendously ignorant. The ad I saw claimed that 'cap and trade' is being pushed only so that the government can take our money away from us... I want to know exactly who is behind it

this is their website http://www.webbga.com/

2. They changed both their name and the website from the ad
probably because they got sued. I've written turner already and I posted the story to my facebook. I urge everyone to spread the word as far and wide as possible about these goons.

3. thanks for posting this info
I read the whole thing and yes the real Better Government Association won the lawsuit and the judge ordered the fraud to reroute connections... The ruthless lies and vileness of their content worries me. Such fear tactics are so destructive to our society.

If you go to the site http://www.bettergovernmentassociation.com/ now you see this:

The Owners of this website are in the process of changing their name to The U.S. Citizens Association. If you are looking for the Chicago-based Better Government Association, the non-partisan government watchdog organization that has been fighting corruption i`n government since 1923, please visit www.bettergov.org.

To Contact the U.S. Citizens Association, please visit www.u.s.citizensassociation.com

Ah - the a**holes that took the web site name of the Better Government Association are now U.S. Citizens Association at the second site.

The Better Government Association are at www.bettergov.org or will be - the site is not active yet.

U.S. Citizens Association is the group to name when we complain and to watch for further dirty tricks and lies. Their website is actually at www.webbga.com which belongs to a "Lance Davis."

6. Yes but the real group is not keeping their domain name and the usurper is using it to
Promote their hate filled site. If the real group still owns their original domain name and is still paying for the web space, why are they allowing the rip off group to effectively advertise and divert from the original domain?

If somebody ripped off my business name, there would not be a nice announcement with an active link to the thief's web site. There would be a copy of the judge's order and an explanation of why that was necessary. The only place the thief's name would be mentioned would be in the judge's order.

I wonder if the original group accidentally let their domain name expire and the other guys picked it up to abuse it?

7. The pirates got a "twofer"...they hijacked the good group's name
and ALSO made it impossible for them to use their name even when they got booted by the lawsuit.

I'd sue them for 100 million dollars and make someone think twice about it the next time.
