When Bush was installed in 2000, there were protests all over the country, but these protests were barely a footnote on the evening news. MSM did cover the thugs intimidating the recount offices, but not the protestors lining the installation route. The teabaggers and thugs disrupting town hall meetings are headlines every day. I think I'm correct in my observations. Could it be that MSM sought to minimize the extent of the protests in 2000 by minimizing the coverage, but are focusing on the right wing protests about health care reform to make the viewers think that there is a great deal of protesting now? Teabag meeting attendance numbers in the few, and it seems like the same protestors (and I use the term loosely) show up at different meetings, but MSM yammers on about the birthers, deathers, Sotomayor, and the other protests as if they are the most relevant thing in the world.
If you just glanced at the news, you'd think that the protestors against health reform are ready to topple the government, when in reality, the polls, the recent elections and other measures show that a majority of American people want reform, voted for and support Obama, and aren't repugs.
I don't know how we got where we are, but it is hard to think that a minority of buttlickers are working to derail our country and getting so much air time all the time.
