They are still angry today. Barack Obama is just another reincarnation of Jane Fonda. He is a "socialist" that hates the country. That is why they are screaming. Health care reform is really not that important to most of them. They hate the liberals. They hate the Democrats. It doesn't matter what the Democrats are for, they are against it.

They are angry because of their "dumbness". I lived for 13 yrs in Florida among many retirees, and many of the dumbest were the ex-union members who were able to retire because of the unions. And I'm one of them, but I didn't forget where I came from. But then they get to Florida and want to act like rich Republicans, including registering that way. When Bush faked the causes for invading Iraq, it was pretty obvious to me, but they had their blinders on, and endorsed sending other peoples kids to that war. Of course most of them avoided being involved in Vietnam, just like their hero, Cheney. But a real bunch of dumb bastards!

9. Well, first of all, Vietnam was not actually Nixon's war if you want to get technical.

It was started and escalated by LBJ and the dems. If you want a real eye opener, check out old archived footage of Johnson during some of his press conferences. As the war becomes more of a quagmire, and more un-winnable. He starts the same talks of "escalation," and "surging" and "staying the course" that another president that we completely ridiculed not long ago for doing the exact same thing, was doing. And don't get me going on the body counts of the dem -vs- the body counts of repugs....this website has got several threads that are circle jerking like mad right now over Truman nuking Japan, and can't make enough excuses for that atrocity.

But I understand what you are saying. The military industrial complex has each and every one of us by the collective "balls" in this country, and there has been a concerted, generations long, effort by the industries associated with them to keep all Americans, both dems and repugs and each others throats.

The same holds true with the health insurance industry and lobby. It's not Obama they hate...it is anyone that dares to even THINK about cutting in to even the crust, of their pie. And it's not hatred...it is cold, calculated, squelching of dissent, by the oldest means known: finding the small differences among the 90 percent of the population that is not in the "big club" (hat tip to Carlin...rip), and keeping us at each others throats while they run off with all the money, and keep the status-quo going.

I am a twice wounded RVN vet. LBJ and McNamara were the primary orchestrator's of the war in Viet Nam. LBJ was the president through the most violent and bloodiest phases.

Most "old people" I know are liberal Democrats, some are far, far to the left and were radicalized during the RVN war. This equating old folks as arch conservatives is something out of Hollywood central casting.
