Healthcare reform: an elderly man being terrorized by the Right.

You could say it is their own fault for believing FOX and all the wingnut pundits on radio. Okay, sure. But you have to have a little sympathy for an 81-year old man who is caught up in believing everything they say and being scared out of his wits. He has been trained not to believe anything that the "liberal media" says, so will only listen to the likes of FOX.

I used to get really mad at my dad for his diatribes, but now they just roll off me. I realize he's been put into a bad way by other forces, and isn't going to ever see things straight again. He won't listen to anybody who could set him straight. Everything that happens is spun for him in the worst light, and they keep him focused on dire predictions for the future. For him this is reality.

He has Medicare (which I'm sure can provide a wheelchair should he need it) but he is worried that the Federal goverment is going to take it over!! And he's also worried that the Feds are going to take over Social Security! See what I mean? This, coming from a college educated man (although he has been retired for 20 years.) The saddest part of it is that I can't ease his mind. I am a "liberal democrat" and therefore I am the brainwashed one.

"I am wondering if you still have that wheelchair that you were talking about a couple years ago. My feet and legs have been bothering me much more this year, and if I live much longer I may need it. When the Obama healthcare thing takes over, which it looks like it will, He will decide that I am too old to receive any type of care. That is what it is like in Europe now--and that is what he is trying to push down our throats.
Yesterday, he said when talking about townhall meetings, Quote " You people that made the mess that I received when I came to the Presidents office should SHUTUP and GET OUT OF THE WAY so that I can fix it."

Quite a man that you liberals elected . Did you know that when he takes over the healthcare program that he will be the 3rd largest employer in the world. Thats after China and India ? Okay , say I don't know what I'm talking about like you usually do. This was said on television by a diplomat from Europe. He also said you Americans just don't know what you are getting into---and when it happens it will take you 20 years to get out of. And Russia is doing everything that they can to help you continue to fail !

I hope you liberals are happy with what you have. It seems like it is already too late to stop him."
