The lesson we should learn from Dr. Tiller's murder is that if someone is demonized enough in the mass media, some crazy person will try to kill them.

Marabout40 has an excellant diary on the RecList right now titled Thank You Rachel Maddow & Frank Schaeffer!. Within that diary there is a video featuring Frank Schaeffer which I strongly suggest that you watch. In that video Mr. Schaeffer is quoted as saying :

MinistryOfTruth's diary :: :: There is a reason they are called dittoheads. There is a small percentage of the population that can not think for themselves. When they hear their own insane thoughts repeated on TV and the Radio they feel a sense of affirmation. When they hear their own racism and hatred echoed in the media they feel justified, and when they hear Obama and Democrats, union members and others compared to Hitler and Fascism they will think "Anything I do will be justified."

The hateful and racist, the fools who are easily scared must think, "I am not crazy. After all, I heard it on the TV/Radio!"

But this is not Bill O'Reilly taking a long but solitary battle against one man to the extreme, this is a 24/7 Right Wing Noise Machine that is saying in so many coded, whispered words, "These people are pure evil and must be stopped"

1. Once again, we can go back to adults who were childhood bullies...

Can't you picture these same commentators as those who started a fight on the playground and then stood back and watched others carry the threats through? These people are sick in the head. There is no other explanation.

God help Obama and his family. I fear we are at a corner and the next turn is not the road we want to take. We must stand firmly behind him. Any of these threats should be sent to the FBI or whatever authority to get these kooks off the street.
