I'm at a coffee with the congressman and these teabaggers are nuts
Edited on Sat Aug-08-09 09:20 AM by proud2BlibKansan
Congressman Cleaver (MO 5th) has a once monthly coffee where he meets one on one with constituents. The place is packed with racist teabaggers. They are chanting 'Read the Bill' and 'Just Say No'. They are also angry that Cleaver isn't speaking to the crowd. But he is doing what he does once a month. It's kinda funny. The guy behind me is going on and on about the evils of socialized medicine. And he claims he was on welfare as a child. I just told him he looks healthy enough so my tax dollars obviously kept you healthy as you were growing up.

They keep chanting and we out chant them every time. I am standing here with a bunch of "union thugs" and we are surrounding Cleaver as he talks to each constituent. Please forgive any spelling errors as I am being shoved from behind.

One lunatic just told us he pays $6000 a month for insurance and has already refused Medicare.

But my favorite is the lady who is at least 75, maybe 80, and her sign says 'Keep Government Out Of My Health Care'. I stood next to her for as long as I could stand it and heard at least 6 people ask her if she had refused Medicare. LOL She never responded.

Took lots of pictures. Will post later.

A twist on the enlistment forms that chicken-hawks can't stand.

Medicare and their Social Security...

Thanks for posting & defending your Congressman's monthly meeting! I look forward to the pictures. Do they like to get their photos taken as they're yelling and looking ugly? Usually with misspelled signs.

Good work, thanks, and looking forward to the pictures!

Remember that Rachel is outing some of these assholes as being Republican operatives ~~ so let's all of us take a long hard look at the crowds and see if anything is worth sending on to Rachel, Keith or Big Ed.

Thanks again for a job well done! :hi:

32. I would have LOVED to ask that guy just how that would drive down costs
when every doctor, every hospital, every pharmacy would have to add staff to deal with the hundreds of additional insurance companies each with their own set of claims processes and insane rules.

The thought of him bragging about making money on insurance stocks who make money by excluding people like him with the exorbitant premiums just about made my head explode. :hurts:

35. so, I'm thinking let's open up medicare for everyone
and let people choose between corporate insurance and medicare. All of those teabagging senior citizens can refuse medicare and have corporate insurance, and the rest of us who want medicare and can join government insurance. See, they want choice, so give it to them or stick it to them (if they choose private insurance). They actually take our choice away from us. I do trust parts of the government more than I trust a heartless, greedy, for profit only corporate insurance company. I worked for Social Security and I'll go with the bureaucrats on this one.

They are so uninformed/misinformed it's pathetic.

I just looked at my representative's website a couple days ago to see if he had a coffee coming up. I'm curious to see if any of those loons come to it. I live in a district of Los Angeles that encompasses a large area that includes a mixture of immigrants, artists, musicians, gays and gangs and is most likely pretty liberal as a whole.

47. Their selfish need to preserve what they think is theirs is being activated
It's actually quite genius marketing.

They know they don't like Obama and they have circulated enough of those racist emails and pictures that yes, they are indeed racists. But they may not even realize it.

I spent the morning with these lunatics. Saw them in action. The event I went to was attended by lots of African Americans and the lunatics went out of their way to talk to the African Americans and play the 'I really do like black people' game. It was completely repulsive.
