Fox News Offers Viewers Dem’s Town Hall Schedules But Not GOP’s

(ChattahBox)—Fox News today, provided a helpful service to its Conservative right-wing viewers interested in disrupting a Democratic lawmaker’s town hall event, by offering dates and times of upcoming town halls all conveniently organized on an Excel spreadsheet no less.

According to Fox News’ James Rosen, Fox News didn’t have the town hall schedule for Republican lawmakers.
The Fox News host referred to “town hall battles” and Rosen spoke of the “gladiatorial” nature of the Democratic town halls that have been disrupted by angry mobs spurred on by Conservative Astroturf organizations, backed by insurance interests opposed to health care reform.

Many of the Democratic town halls have been overrun with right-wing disruptors that have turned violent. And yet, Rosen announced the town hall schedules of Democratic lawmakers, but not of Republican lawmakers.

Media Matters notes that Fox News’ excuse of “not having” the Republican schedule falls flat, when it took all of five seconds on Google for Media Matters to find one.

1. Someone should put together a book / documentary about this rightwing astroturf machine.

Rachael Maddow had a good piece connecting the dots of today's 'machine' and the 2000 election.

Sounds like a good PBS POV project at the least. It certainly would be a good exercise in the study of propaganda. It would be easy to show many parallels with the propaganda campaigns of Nazi Germany (with apologies to Godwin's law).

2. of course. because we see angry citizens voicing their opinions at the
dem town halls in the form of disruptive mobs... creating the appearance of no one wanting this change... and at the republican rallies we won't see that because no one knows htey are going on and that way they can keep dissenters out.
