Reuters: "Angry Americans" Disrupt health care town halls - NO mention that these are astroturf
NO MENTION AT ALL in the entire article that these nimrods are GOP/health insurance/pharma/astroturf operatives. Lead the public to believe that these loudmouths are the MAJORITY (they are NOT) and that they are "Angry Americans" when what they are is representatives of the profiteering (off of people's illness and death) status quo (GOP and their health insurance mercenaries).

WHERE IS THE TRUTH? Nowhere to be found in the lame$tream "news".

9. well, I wrote 'em an email of complaint anyway
I know it might be fruitless, but I did it anyway, asking that if they were going to present a person (Pappas this time) from freedomworks as if he were some spokesperson picked out of a hat, please identify who HE works for.

13. Thanks
Maybe I'll do the same. Not that they'll pay any damn attention. They have their marching orders after all.

6. Angry Americans?
Somehow when millions of "angry Americans" where protesting in the street against starting the Iraq war they were summarily dismissed with another phrase. Angry Liberals.

Sorry to say it but they are a bunch of suckers to the biggest lies ever told and its only going to hurt them economically if they succeed ..emotionally if they do not.

They also pointed out the tea baggers... in a way.

But imho you are *correct* its quite slanted, American propaganda is sneaky .. they point out polls that say we all want reform ..then say ..but millions are happy. They do not say how many millions of us are or what the ratio is.

and they point out this gem:

"Public opinion is the only way the Republicans can stop this," said James Ceaser, a political science professor at the University of Virginia. "They need to check Obama's momentum."

------------------------------------

It's all about stopping what we all want.

snip ..I urge all to read the full article:

-----------------------------------

"MAINSTREAM AMERICA"

"I consider myself just an average American but there is not a day or a week that goes by that I don't hear talk about revolution in our country because (of) the government," said a man who called himself a "conservative, mainstream American."

"We (the United States under Obama) have gone so far out of the Constitution," he said to a standing ovation.

Other speakers asked about "martial law" and "forced vaccinations" and when the topic turned to illegal immigrants in the Bible Belt town, someone shouted: "Bus them home."

Last week, a crowd in Philadelphia directed boos at Obama's Health and Human Services secretary, Kathleen Sibelius, and Democratic Senator Arlen Specter.

Protesters disrupted another meeting on Thursday in Tampa, Florida, with cries of "tyranny," and police made arrests at a similar meeting in St. Louis, Missouri.

Opinion polls show that many Americans feel the U.S. healthcare system, the costliest in the world, is in need of reform. They also show millions of Americans with health insurance are satisfied with it.

A group called the Tea Party protesters -- named for the Boston tax revolt that helped spark the American Revolution -- has launched a campaign to disrupt Democratic town hall meetings on healthcare.

"Public opinion is the only way the Republicans can stop this," said James Ceaser, a political science professor at the University of Virginia. "They need to check Obama's momentum."

10. Worst Ever

I have been around a lot longer than most here so believe me when I say Journalism is in a more sorry state that at any time in the last 70 years. There is very little reporting of FACTS anymore.

12. Typical. And we have our DU contingent trying to call it "free speech"
and saying we're being hypocritical for calling them out on their lobbyist-orchestrated intimidation.

Such fucking bullshit.

18. Not as Bad
It's true that some progressive groups got out of hand during the Immigration Reform debate last year. A couple of groups shut down presentations by those against "Amnesty", but to the best of my recollection they never shoved people around or gave them death threats. They just yelled and screamed in conference halls until the Repubs left.

Bad, but not nearly as bad as the junk that is going on now.
