It's beginning to feel good again to be American.
What a great week it has been!

The release of journalists Laura Ling, and Euna Lee from North Korean, and the overwhelming vote to confirm Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. (Congratulations, Judge Sotomayor!) alone, make this a better week than all the weeks combined of the Bush administration. (Well, with the exception of the week of November 4, 2008!)

I could get used to this! :bounce:

4. Nope.
I just realized that I was feeling something I hadn't felt in more than 8 years. A little bit of hope. A little bit of pride.

I'm sorry you don't feel it. It's nice.

2. I agree. It will be slow progress but we are definitely heading in the
right direction. I don't understand how anyone here could disagree with that. We are not there yet and some people thought Obama had a magic wand, but we will get there.

5. Skimming the threads this week,
there have been multiple good ones. I don't remember that every happening before. After 8 long years with every bit of news taking us backward, I'm happy to be moving the other way.

3. Wow. You're easy.
Diplomacy is refreshing isn't it? It's nothing new, just that we never engaged in it during the Bush administration.

The fact that we actually have a new female on the court is refreshing. Judge Sotomayor is no screaming lefty, although some drama queens want to behave as though she is. I doubt she will be much help in reversing the idea of "Corporate Personhood".

I need to see a LOT more progress before I feel like celebrating. But we should count our blessings as they come, I suppose.

6. I'm not easy.
Just surprised to get a little of that old feeling back after so many years.

7. Agreed.
It is a good feeling.
I shouldn't assume that it means that you are satisfied with the progress so far.
