The Obama team seems to know how to handle foreign policy issues. What a change. The republicans idea of handling such situations is ignoring them, hoping the press, and voters will forget. If not that, then blowing some country to smithereens who has nothing to do with it.. Grenada, Iraq...

I wonder how the uber righties are handling this?..

Not good is my assumption.

This was especially poignant after finding the remains of Capt. Speicher.

The Bush administration and Cheney, just washed their hands of him, within 24 hours. You do not do that in the military. But that is how they handle things.. with no responsibility or caring at all.

Nice to have the grown ups back in charge.

Edit to credit Botany, in a post further down the line.. also a 30% reduction in Nukes with Russia

1. The Speicher thing was ridiculously handled by the Bush Crime Family
Edited on Wed Aug-05-09 12:45 PM by Sebastian Doyle
First they abandoned the guy over there, so they could claim a "casualty free victory" in Iraq war I, probably knowing that he was killed in the crash the whole time.

Then he was later exploited in the run up to Chimpy's invasion with the bullshit "reports" of Speicher being held as a POW in one of Saddam's prisons (initials carved in the wall and all that crap).

Seems like the only people who treated Capt. Speicher with any respect were the Iraqi Bedouins who did the decent thing and buried his body.

3. My Dad who was military.. despised Cheney and Bushies for doing that..
He should have been listed MIA.. It is really hard to explain, what a travesty that was for a lot of people actually fought in wars.

5. Or Pat Tillman
3 shots in the head w/ an AR-14 @ less then 10 meters ..... then they burned his stuff & journal after which they
made up a story about him being in a fire fight w/ the taliban .... then it was an armored personal carrier that shot
up into the hills from the road ..... then friendly fire from close range.

6. Bush* and Cheney rescued the spy plane captured by China!
Of course, that was after the Chinese effectively stripped the plane of its electronics and surveillance systems. (Did you forget about this one?)
