Poll question: As Vermont Considers IMPEACHMENT...
The Vermont legislature is about to consider the Impeachment of George W. Bush. You are a member. What say you to Impeachment of the President?

6. I live in Vermont
Yes I know how lucky I am yadda,yadda......
Dont bet on a yea vote.
Everyone is pissed that the legislature is handling issues of
national (impeachment) or international (climate change) issues.

The tension has been mounting for awhile and alot of these guys
are spooked and are gonna just say fuck it, lets move on.

On the other hand in a few months Vermont will probably have the
toughest emissions standards in the US.

So while it sucks that VT isn't gonna be the downfall of Busholini,
were gonna move this entire frickin country to clean up its
environmental act.
Small state leads a nation.

11. Fill me in a bit:
If they vote for impeachment, what happens after that????

What will this mean besides one state thinking the prez should be impeach? What kind of merit will it hold?

I am a bit confused.

12. The Constitution and Jeferson's Rules that Congress follows
Allows for a state to initiate Impeachment proceedings. That is what the bill is designed to do. If it passes, it will force an Impeachment vote to the floor of the House of Representatives. If they vote to impeach, then Impeachment hearings in the Senate begin. Bush will be officially Impeached (regardless of outcome from Senate). Senate needs 2/3rd majority to vote for guilty verdict.

13. I know how impeachment works in U.S. Congress
but never knew that first part that a state can initiate it.

Thanks for filling me in.

:hi:
