so, who remembers stories of whistle blowers murdered in iraq?
this blackwater story (which we all knew about a long time ago, hmmm) has me searching my memory for a couple of stories about soldiers of conscience who ended up dead. i remember lavonia johnson(?) supposed suicide who happened to be raped before she died. and i recall a guy who was a chaplain(?) who was talking and was also suicided. pat tillman?
i think there might have been at least one more that we knew about here.
can we put a name and a face of this story before it gets the deep 6?

Controversy surrounding his death

The New York Times/Los Angeles Times reporter T. Christian Miller and others have reported on the possibility that he was murdered by defense contractors who feared he would become a whistle-blower against their alleged fraudulent activity throughout the Iraq War.

2. James Kitterman was murdered. Five Americans got arrested and released.
Mr. Kitterman had been with Kellog, Brown and Root, then started his own company.
I don't believe there's a connection with Blackwater.

5 N.C. contractor workers detained in Iraq

By News 14 Carolina Staff

FAYETTEVILLE – Five American security contractors from Fayetteville-based Corporate Training Unlimited have been detained in Iraq in connection with the death of another contractor.

Donald Feeney, his son Donald Feeney III, Micah Milligan, Mark Bridges and Jason Jones are being held as part of the investigation into the killing of a Texas man in Iraq's Green Zone.

The investigation that led to the arrests began in May. That's when authorities discovered the body of 60-year-old James Kitterman, who owned a construction company that operated in Iraq. His body was found tied up in his vehicle. He had been stabbed to death.

The Green Zone, formerly known as the international zone, is nearly 4 square miles and is the center of international presence in the city.

Detainee Donald Feeney founded the company in 1986 and it's been operating in Iraq since 2003.
