husband and friends walked out on Toby Keith concert
they're all in Sturgis at Harley event...tried to warn them the guy is an ass but not being country music fans they had never heard of him... they tell me (and 2 are republicans) the guy is the most immature and idiotic performer ever on a stage. Apparently it was something about a Ford commerical with skin heads fighting???

1. The mistake was going in the first place.
Of course they would leave. Any sane person would.

4. My Toby Keith story
He was here at a college basketball game. Sat behind my sister. Got so drunk security had to come and tell him to calm down. Spilled his beer and ruined a lady's camera. Security had to threaten to remove him until he promised to replace the camera.

And this was 10 years ago.

5. Isn't he the dirtbag who...
Asked at a concert if there were any Canadians in the crowd, and when a bunch stood up a whooped, he said "OK I ain't playing till all the Canadians leave cause they didn't join in Iraq!" So all the Canadians got up and left and basically said Fuck You on their way out, and demanded their money back and got it. The stupid dipshit doesn't know that Canada is in Afghanistan, and fought alongside every American war except Vietnam and Iraq. And at that, lots of Canucks went to Vietnam for the "adventure". Piss on him... and everyone who looks like him.....

35. I stand corrected, did some research and
As far as I can see, it was a rumor, and also the rumor was even confused, it seems the rumorists couldn't conclude which "Keith" it was.... maybe it was Olberman!

10. Urban legend, no pun intended.
The Keith Urban version of this urban legend is right at the end of this page:

http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/ordered.asp

Would have copied it for you, but for some reason I'm unable.

13. Snopes has some script that doesn't allow you to copy text
If you can figure out how to disable the script, you can.

I use "view source" on Firefox to copy selected parts of text

23. Thanks, that didn't sound like
Keith Urban. They can really get some dumb shit out on people.

I got fooled the other month 'cause I read..oh, on DU that Jeff Goldblum was killed in a fall in New Zealand..it was that day the celebs(MJ & FF) had passed. Turns out he wasn't even in NZ and that had been posted about other actors, too.

My mistake.

You're right. He's an avid Sooner fan. And a former football player who played semi-pro defensive end for the Oklahoma City Drillers. And he has practiced with the Sooners.

20. I have no idea why other posters talk down Sturgis and bikes but I disagree....
I have never been to Sturgis. I've never owned, or even driven a motorcycle, though I did hold tight to my best friends stomach when we rode together back in the 1970's, and have had a few good experiences since riding behind someone.

Hope that, other than the bad experience with Toby Keith etc your guy and his friends had a good time.

28. Cheech and Chong rained out tonight
So it's been a minus for him. 70 mile winds right now. He has BMW trike as handicapped with Parkinsons...think this is his last hoorah..and he's hating it...been there many years but too tired to deal with half a million bikes in town of 2,000. It's insane there. But how kind of you!

32. Thats tough....I'd be VERY disappointed to miss out on Cheech and Chong (EVEN today)
some things are classic.

Sorry he's down. I've got health issues too and I know how depressing it can be. Maybe you could perk him up with a challenge-every year there's a counter gathering in Sturgis Mississippi-much smaller than the main party, but the same basic crowd. Dare him to branch out next year-if his health will allow, it could be a real motivator.

Regardless, I wish you both the best.
