Of course, all Dems would vote Nay. But it would force the Republicans to take a stance. My guess is that they would unanimously vote Nay. This would simultaneously piss of the birthers and take away any support the Republicans have from their birther base. If they don't want to go that far, the Dems could use this as a "stick" to subdue the Republicans into supporting the passage of more important bills.

1. I don't think that would work well in soundbytes
which is how most Americans get their news. I want less birther talk, not more.

2. Dems just pulled a similar stunt bill to Dismantle Medicare. Repubs forced to vote against it

making them eat their words about "PUBLIC HEALTHCARE". It shut them up good and was reported accurately by the media. I think the media is on our side on the birther issue. If they weren't, I'd agree with you.

I'd appreciate some real legislation and not a further descent into the politics of "look over here."

5. Now, now, they are doing it all by themselves. I'm merely offering to help them go all the way
And to give the Dems some legislative leverage. Let the Blue Dogs take a long hard look at what can be done to the opposition.

4. "by birth". Don't give them the wiggle-room to continue playing both sides of the fence.

6. I feel very confident that Obama and his advisors have a trick up their sleeve.
Right now they are giving the birthers enough rope to hang themselves. Many Republicans do not want to be embarrassed and are remaining silent. I will just sit back and wait to see what happens.

7. Congress already unanimously passed a resolution declaring Hawaii as O's birthplace
Even Michelle Bachmann voted yes! This is all about Media Outlets and their financers. Not about "news"

9. The House is unanimous on the issue.
It's only being kept alive through the media.
