My 5-year-old's letter to the troops in Iraq
My daughter is in a Brownies troop. They decided to send some gifts to the troops in Iraq, and each girl wrote their own letter to the troops. She brought home a copy of her letter for me to read. I guess our kids pick up on a lot at home, even when we are unaware of it.

"I do not like wars because wars mean people get hurt, and when people get hurt, it makes me sad. Some people are able to make it through the wars. I hope you are one of them, and everyone else. I am Laurel. I am in first grade. I have a very long haircut, and everyone thinks I have red rosy cheeks. I have green eyes. I am five and a half. XXXOOOXOOX"

3. Thanks To Parents Like You. . .
There is hope for future generations yet! Hopefully she can become a leader and inspire others to her philosophy on war, and life!

The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.

4. Better words have never been spoken
It is a bit tough to be shadowed by the words of someone 1/10th your age, but it gives me hope that things can get better.

I hope you're proud and you should be.
