Who can help me make my own Fake Kenyan Birth Certificate?
I read EarlG's instructions, and I don't know how to implement them.

I really want to!

HELP.

2. My dear ColbertWatcher!
How do I upload an image editing application and fill it out with a typewriter font?

Or...I was able to access the PDF but was unable to type onto it.

Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy!

And thank you for the rec!

:hi:

9. There's a free editing application called GIMP ...
Edited on Mon Aug-03-09 12:47 AM by ColbertWatcher
... you can download it for free here.

Then, once it, the image and any fonts you want to use (if you want to get some fonts go here) are all on your computer, open up GIMP (waiting ... waiting), then

Step 1.
click File, a drop-down menu will appear, click on "Open", then wander around your directory until you find the file you want to open, finally click "Open."

Step 2.
It will probably open up a little smaller than you can comfortably see everything, so, choose the magnification, which can be found on the bottom of the image window.

Increase the image size to your liking and move around until you find a place you want to start typing.

Step 3.
To type in words, click on the T icon on the GIMP control panel--this means you will be working with the "text tool". Select which font you want to use by clicking on the "Aa" button on the control panel. Then, click inside the image window where you want to start typing, another small window will appear to show exactly what you're typing.

Once you're done typing (you'll probably want to do each section separately instead of typing in the whole document), you can click on the "Close" button on the lower right of the text window.

Step 3.1
Now you can manipulate the size of the text to precisely what you want it to be. Go to the GIMP control panel, and click the size arrows up or down to your liking.

Step 3.2
If it doesn't look like it's in the right spot, you can still move it by clicking the 4-arrow icon on the GIMP control panel, then back on the text box inside the image window and move your cursor to where you want the text to be.

If you want to redo it, select the text box and then on the image window, click Edit (a drop down menu will appear), click on "Cut" and start all over at Step 3.

Step 4
Once you are satisfied with where the text is and how big it is, you will need to merge it with the rest of the image. On the image window, click on Layer (a drop down menu will appear), click on "Merge down" and voila! You have "typed" info into your birth certificate! Be sure to now "save" your image! After each "section" is complete!

3. You need to download it to
an image editing application - this one is free:

http://www.shareup.com/JPhotoBrush_Image_Editing_Application-download-3852.html

Opening it in PDF just works if you're going to print the blank document and then use a typewriter to fill it in.

Where would I find a typewriter today, I wonder...............................

4. OK, thanks...
I clicked on it, and it showed up. How do I get it to intersect with the document?

Told ya I'm not very computer-savvy!

I don't think we still have a typewriter either...

18. My basement. Self-correcting IBM Selectric model, cost me $1000
in 1975. Took years to pay off! Haven't used it in 25 years, but can't bear to throw it out!

39. A thousand bucks!!!
I can't even begin to tell you how many of those I tossed around when I worked as a secretary. I had no idea. I screwed up so many of those fonts - do you have one?

Do you think you could get ribbons for it today?

They really were very beautiful machines, compared to what preceded them.

And now we have keyboards that make these flat, funny sounds that are now normal for us................................

40. I hear ya. My secretarial skills were fined tuned on those machines.
Have no idea what replacement parts would be or if they are available. But can't bear to throw it out.

It's in mint condition, and no doubt works like a charm. Wasn't the self-correcting stuff amazing? A little back-space key that went over the letter and put "white out" on it? LOL! We're dating ourselves! :hippie:

Do you remember stencils? Do you remember that stuff you'd put on a stencil when you made a typo - that rubber-cement kind of stuff?

Man, we worked hard, didn't we?

That's why I went to grad school. I hated the hard work................. :)

or digital camera and get it up to a photobucket account.

Just download the photo from....

http://orlytaitzesq.com/obama-certified-copy-of-registration-of-birth-in-kenya.htm

Use a photo editor to remove the info you don't want. Add in the stuff you do. I used Picasa 3 (Google's free editor). To do it with that one... Remove excess text with the Retouch function by zooming in and using a very small brush clicking on text and then on a blank part of the parchment to replace it with blank space. Practice to remove shadow as well. Try to steer clear of lines because they make it trickier. Play around, you'll get it. Then use the Text function to add in what you want. I used Courier New Bold pt. 8 and shrunk it down to fit properly. It may help to leave a line of original text until you've started to add new text to compare with.

Enjoy.

Email Orly and let her know you have it. Make sure you come up with a reasonable sale price, she's not dumb, you know.

It helps to tell her you are in hiding, and wish to remain anonymous, due to multiple death threats.
