20. No, of course not
and neither do you. There's no such thing.

Next time you examine the materials in an "American" car tell me how many of them were extracted from American soil not to mention how and where the parts were manufactured.

Me not like jingoism.

23. So you are really going try and pull that?
Whatever makes you feel better about accelerating the decline of American manufacturing.

How perverted is it for you to mention jingoism, after suggesting changing America to Weapons INC.

4. Although I am open to the posibility of changing our country's name, I would rather not change it to
Weapons Inc.

How about...

Fartacus

or

Santanica

or

Zombinia

or

Entertaino

or

Pizzayumland

7. As a matter of fact, I do.
I've owned about 20 cars in my life, and only one has been of foreign manufacture.

10. Much of what they are calling non-military is often used for military
purposes. I have always thought that if we could stop the military trafficking of weapons we could end war. However, it kind of looks like we might end our own economy along with it.

13. Also, Israeli weapons production is intertwined with ours . . . evidently . . .
you can't tell the difference between them !!!

PLUS all of this a lot of the "aid" to countries like Israel is intended

for weapons.

19. careful reading this
Edited on Sun Aug-02-09 04:18 AM by dreamnightwind
While I totally agree with the perspective and feel that military spending in this country is beyond obscene, I hope everyone reading this sees that it is measuring % change since the year 2000, not relative levels of spending, big difference.

Now, on with dismantling the multinational corporate military that disguises itself with the US flag!

edited to remove lysdexic typo (yeah I know...)

22. More like "we just make the complex shit now"
the UK and France do not make sweaters and tube socks. They do not do chipset fabrication for desktop computers, blu ray players, or toasters. They do manufacture high end components for turbines used in power generation, aircraft parts (boeing/Airbus), vehicles, and other durable goods.

This would be pretty much the curve in any first world country.
