Why I miss the Cold War
We used the spend our time trying to keep the Rooskies from getting the better of us. Now we spend our time keeping other Americans from screwing us.

Felix Dzerzhinsky must be in his Bolshie heaven wishing he had today's American corporatists and RWingnuts to help him as useful idiots during his day.

1. They Made Such Good Bad Guys
I mean, during the Cold War, the Russians made such good bad guys. Now, in modern/contemporary movies what group can supply a steady stream of antagonists? It's culturally insensitive to always make the bad guys Muslim. Home-bred American terrorists? Yeah, but it's not as fun when the bad guy is too much like the good guy. Besides, if we use home-grown right wing types, too much of the audience might have sympathy for the antagonist and see him as an anti-hero instead.

Oh, I know...
Imperialist Americans who want to use the government to help them impoverish the citizenry while increasing their own wealth

1 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!

Oh wait, that's not a movie. That's reality.
