The healthcare reform debate is heating up and Congress is preparing to go on summer recess. But the health problems many Americans face are not going on vacation. The ongoing burdens of our current healthcare system are not sustainable!

Even people with health insurance often must pay out-of-pocket. The high bills you see cover not only you doctor's services, but 29 percent of the total bill goes to administrative costs, eight percent covers the uninsured and over five percent is set aside for the price of medical errors.

Help Congress see just how important it is for American workers to have affordable, quality healthcare! Tell them how much our current system is really costing you by sending your "medical bill" to Capitol Hill.

You may have one particularly outrageous bill, or perhaps you spend an unacceptable amount every month on healthcare. Let Washington know!

1. I have a few I could send them. My mom does too.

She had 2 stents put in her legs, went home same day, no complications and her total bills came to around $15,000.00

She has BC/BS + Medicare.

4. Wouldn't htis be interesting to see the accumulation of med bills on the floor of the House & Senate

How would the Insurers and Pharmas and med services dispute such a heap.
I would like to see the visual on this myself.

It would make the real problem appear as big & looming as it really is.

2. FANTASTIC IDEA!!! And send them to the white house and coporate media, too!

with complaints about their coverage. Dig out ALL your medical bills, and send photocopies!!!

It's about time that we reminded them that the voters have a skin in this game! CUE THE VONAGE THEME!

3. I think this is a great idea also. Let them SEE (a visual helps) why the people are so outraged.

I cannot even go to the doc anymore. I am generally healthy but a yearly check & perhaps some preventative maintenance would be a great benefit.

Dental is untouchable.
Eyecare is still reasonable.

I am 55 and haven't been for a check up in about 10 yrs.

Last time was for migranes and the ER bill was $1500. No treatment for the problem but I did get a referral to go to a physician in that field of study.

I couldn't afford to go any further.
oh well.Ahh life in the USA
