It's time for Democrats to stop being "bipartisan"
Going across the aisle meets that you think that the failed Republican ideas of tax cuts for the wealthy and privatizing everything are valid ideas.

These ideas don't work and it's really just plain dumb that we are still bringing these ideas up as alternatives.

Let's stop trying to work across the aisle and instead kick Republicans to the curb.

2. why?
Why do that? It leads to republicans undercutting dem legislation with lies and mis-information. whats the point of that? working towards a consensus is what any ruling party should do . just because the repubs didn't do that for the last 10 years doesn't mean the dems shouldn't take the higher ground.

3. There are two things wrong with that argument
1. What if Republicans just don't want to see Democrats pass legislation, but just block them?
2. Nobody voted for Obama and Democrats just to see Republican legislation passed anyway.

4. Honey, it was past time for bipartisanship round about 1982
when it became clear that "bipartisanship" was a codeword for "pretend to be a Democrat, but give the Republicans everything they want."

5. It's time for Democrats to stop serving the same masters as the GOP.
We need to demand an end to the quasi-legal bribery of Congress.

7. It never was time for them to be bipartisan.
When I walked into the voting booth last November I voted straight Democrat. I wasn't thinking bipartisan then and I'm not thinking it now.

8. Agree. No matter what, Dems are gonna get criticized by Repugs . . .
. . . we might as well just go for what we want.

There are very few GOPers who are open to bipartisanship -- too few to matter and make any real difference.

9. Unfortunately they can't. Bipartisanship is necessary to appease the Republicans IN the party. nt

10. you're right
nice of us to try but when the other party uses every trick in the book to destroy us, why bother.

can you imagine the uproar if left leaning people said about Bush what is being said about President Obama?
