US urges Iran to free prisoners

The US secretary of state has called on Iran to free political detainees following reports that many are being abused by the authorities.

Dozens were arrested during post-poll protests and 20 are due to face trial next week.

Hillary Clinton said she deplored reports that political prisoners were being mistreated.

1. Can you say "RNC"?
Sure I knew you could.

Hypocrisy, thy name is America.

2. you know, i agree that they should release political prisoners. and i agree that
abuse of said prisoners is not cool. but somehow i don't expect them to take anything we say seriously... i mean.... we kind of lost our moral ground these past several years, what with gitmo and abu ghraib and stuff.

the occupation forces in Iraq and Afghanistan have detained tens of thousands of 'political prisoners' and continue to hold thousands in various detention camps throughout the world. The Israeli occupation forces hold nearly 10,000 Palestinians at any given point. Arab dicators friendly to US/Israel like Egypt and Jordan hold various thousands of their citizens captive at any given time as well. But Iran is the problem. Really, it is.
