These airwaves belong to US - the public, you and me, not to the corporations and their mouthpieces. They don't have the right to mass broadcast racism and sexism. I have the right to turn on my TV to a major network and not listen to imbeciles jokingly calling women "ho"s. I don't want children to hear this kind of demeaning talk about women.

That's all I can think of when I hear his name and that was all that I heard on the morning news.
I didn't hear diddily squat about Iraq or the soldiers that were killed in the last few days.
I think his words were reprehensible and have been for a long, long time. He's an ass = IMASS.
But was there this much outrage when he attacked other people, as he has repeatedly, over time?
I don't remember there being this much outrage when he attacked kidnapped journalist Jill Carroll.
I think Sharpton should keep going and go after Rush and Hannity and Coulter etc.! Get 'em all!
Seems to me that the shit known as Imass has hit the fan this time. The last straw.

And we all know the world is full of racists , Imus is nothing new other than being a popular figure head that said the wrong thing .

You can multi-task but when Imus is the next big issue that crowds all other issues out on the little news we have then the problem crops up where all the focus becomes Imus which backs up everything else until it evaporates .

You could even say it was done on purpose for the sake of argument just as a distraction .

I could care less about Imus what I do care about is it will not change one racists mind or make them even consider they were wrong , instead they take sides and this reinforces the division we already have far too much of in this country .

No lession will be learned from this and the beat will go on . JUst like this damn war of death .

I wonder what distraction is next and you know for certain one is already in the making .

I am amazed the Imus is such a big topic here on DU , one or two posts on the topic would have sufficed .
