CNN wants you to send them letters about the racist Glenn Beck
Edited on Tue Apr-10-07 10:19 AM by me b zola
Okay, not exactly. CNN has asked for e-mails on our thoughts about Imus and if he should be fired or not. Excuse me?! Not only does CNN employ their own idiot racist, but Anderson Cooper actually had Glenn Beck on his show last night to discuss the Imus issue. :wtf:

I think that we should flood CNN with not only our thoughts on Imus, but call them on their hypocrisy and the subsequent nerve of them to have the idiot Beck discussing Imus with no mention of Beck's racist, sexist, & homophobic problems.

3. Here's some background ammo:
You've got to be taught to hate and fear...
The New York Times story on CNN's investment in Glenn Beck, here, contains this quote from him: "hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies." But not this one: if "Muslims and Arabs" don't "act now" by "step to the plate" to condemn terrorism, they "will be looking through a razor wire fence at the West." Or this one: "Muslims who have sat on your frickin' hands the whole time" rather than "lining up to shoot the bad Muslims in the head" will face dire consequences.

5. Brilliant! Let's clean up OUR airwaves!
I wouldn't even waste too much time on Coulter - as it's not up to CNN. But paralleling the two - the one in the news, and the one that should be - is very good strategy!

6. Just sent them this
Well MSNBC did the right thing by benching IMUS. They should have fired him. But I have to question you guys. When are you going to do something about the racist in your midst? Yes, that is Mr. Beck. He has made comments that are quite racist on the air, yet he keeps on.

So when are you dealing with your racists?

9. They've also got a page for comments from their readers, and a question:
http://www.cnn.com/exchange/blogs/quickthoughts/2007/04/imus-apology.html

Should Don Imus' apology be enough to end the controversy over his remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team?

Yes _______ 59% ___ 72539 votes

No ________ 41% ___ 51300 votes

10. I watched Anderson Cooper last night and the hypocracy shocked me
At first I thought great, they are talking about this. I come back 2 minutes later and Glenn Beck is sitting there discussing the matter. What the fuck is wrong with these people? Do they have absolutely no shame left?

12. My letter
Your organization has recently asked for comments on whether or not Don Imus should be fired from MSNBC for the statement he made about the Rutgers Women's Basketball team.

Better you should ask your viewers their opinion about the log in your own eye - embodied by Glenn Beck - instead of complaining about the speck in MSNBC's. Your hypocrisy is through the roof on this issue, considering the plethora of racist, sexist, homophobic and xenophobic remarks Beck has made every single day since joining your organization (nevermind all the hateful statements he made prior to signing with you, which must have enamored him in the eyes of some powerful individuals at CNN who share an appreciation for ludicrous diatribes instead of actual news).

You drive yourselves toward irrelevancy with every day that you provide a soapbox on which this fool pulls ten pounds of foreskin down to his neck and flings chunks of smegma into polite society on a daily basis. Ask your viewership at large whether or not you should fire Glenn Beck...if you dare!

16. My letter, to CNN. Ya think they will read all of theses?
To CNN -

Imus should be fired. Period. There are too many "do overs" in the last 30 years for Imus to plead "it was a joke." And that he thinks his remarks could be a joke or even remotely funny shows how out of touch the aging fake cowboy and his childish posse really are.

But for CNN to get on its high horse over Imus when you nightly give a voice and a time slot to a "host" like Glenn Beck is beyond the pale. Beck, on a nightly basis, says many things as bad as what Imus says.

Beck's whole shtick is hate mongering, blatant partisan swill, divisive and biased opinions cloaked in the blanket of CNN's "best news channel" BS. There is no place for such hatefulness on today’s air waves but especially from “America’s News Network.” Somebody’s PR department is working overtime without actually watching the product.

Reporting the news, fairly and completely to the nation should be an honor that the networks take more seriously. There are not two sides to truth, only partisan talking points to obscure the issues. Not all news demands "both sides of the story." Stick to the truth and you have done your job. CNN has shown they do not take that responsibility seriously with giving voice to hate talk and Glenn Beck.

Maybe CNN should clean their house first before weighing in on the Imus issue. You are pontificating with unclean hands.

Sincerely,

19. CNN has been "interviewing" Glenn Beck a lot recently
Paula Zahn did it on her show so he could cry and talk about his alcoholism, and then Howard Kurz interviewed him also. They are really trying to pretend that he isn't a bigoted monster. They wouldn't be interviewing him if they weren't getting hit with complaints about him.

21. Here is the email I just sent...
I do not understand why you are even asking what people think about Imus and his hate filled rhetoric. Your network employs its own misogynistic, racist, spewer of hate in Glenn Beck. Obviously, you are not really interested in reducing hate speech but in exploiting it.

23. There is a huge difference between Imus & Beck.
Although what Imus said was totally disgusting , Imus's show is one of sophomoric humor. It isn't a serious talk show. Beck on the other hand is suppose to be serious. Imus has been punished and apologized. That's why in my opinion Beck should go...not Imus. Good call here.
