Many physicians' groups support a choice of private or public option.
I think they need to be recognized and listed.

Here is part of their June 15 statement about the Public Option.

Eight physician groups issue support for Obama’s ‘public option’

According to the joint statement issued June 15:

“As doctors, we see patients every day who are more afraid of their medical bills than their illnesses. It frustrates and saddens us to care for patients with what began as a simple and inexpensive medical problem, but has developed into a life-threatening condition. It makes us angry to see children suffering from treatable illnesses, like asthma, in the Emergency Room because they literally have nowhere else to go.

All doctors need to work together to solve our health care crisis. Part of this solution should be the inclusion of a high-quality public health insurance option that competes fairly with private plans. Having the choice of a public health insurance plan will help make health care more affordable for patients, foster greater competition in the insurance market, and guarantee that quality, affordable coverage will be there for our patients no matter what happens.

We believe that the creation of a public health insurance option can break the stranglehold that out-of-control healthcare costs have on our patients by fostering choice and competition. As the American Medical Association first reported, 94% of insurance markets are now highly concentrated—and as a result, premiums have skyrocketed -- increasing more than 87%, on average, over the past six years.”

The statement was signed by:

* The American Academy of Family Physicians
* The American Medical Student Association
* The Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare
* Doctors Council/SEIU Healthcare
* Doctors for America
* The National Doctors Alliance/SEIU Healthcare
* The National Physicians Alliance
* The Student National Medical Association

Here is the PDF version of their statement

We need to be working together to get the best health care plan we can get.

1. It's wrong at this time...

for some groups to tell congress not to vote on a public option. We need to keep an eye on what's in it, but it is our best chance.

2. Single payer action is again today attacking Howard Dean.
They present a version of his book signing. That is the one about which I posted the two part video of his being heckled at his own book signing.

Here is the attack again today from the same group that called him a liar last week.

Howard Dean to Single Payer Action: Get Outta Here

They admit they are attacking him around the country. They are proud of it.

Howard Dean to Single Payer Action: Get Outta Here
Filed under: News — russell @ 6:24 pm

Howard Dean works for a big corporate law firm in Washington, D.C.

McKenna Long & Aldridge.

Dean is a shill for the biotech industry.

One big McKenna Long client?

CIGNA — one of the big five health insurance giants.

A single payer national health insurance system would put CIGNA out of business.

Dean is currently touring the country promoting his new book: Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Health Care Reform.

Single payer activists have been confronting Dean around the country.

Pointing out his corporate connections.

And the fact that his — and the Democrats’ — failed strategy will continue to cost the nation 60 American lives a day.

They are practically calling him a corporatist criminal.

He is unable to promote his own book because of 3 groups which are attacking him around the country. As best I can tell PDA, PNHP, and Single Payer Action.

When I point it out, I become the victim of ugly attacks. So be it.

3. I did not see those words in the video I posted. If you do tell me where.
I did not hear the word "jerk"

Something is really wrong here.

Feel free to unrecommend but at least stand up for the truth.

If this continues we will get nothing.
