Now your friendly law enforcement person can be 3x as effective! :sarcasm:

New Taser stun gun can shock 3 at a time

By AMANDA LEE MYERS, Associated Press Writer

Monday, July 27, 2009

Taser International unveiled its first new stun gun since 2003 Monday, a device that can shock three people without reloading.

Older Taser models, in use by 14,200 law enforcement agencies throughout the country, have to be reloaded after one shot, which can be a problem for an officer who has missed a target or has more than one suspect to subdue.

Scottsdale-based Taser unveiled the new device to hundreds of law enforcement officers and distributors at its annual conference. It costs $1,799, compared with $799 for the older model, though Taser spokesman Steve Tuttle said there will be "very generous" trade-in programs for law enforcement agencies.

2. We need to make it illegal to taser an unarmed person.
Police are tasering unarmed people just for not doing what they say.

4. Internal Law Enforcement Memo
Memo

To: All sworn personnel
From: Chief of Police
Security: No Distribution

Be advised: Due to the increasing number of complaints against officers of this department who have used tasers during apprehension operations, all tasers must be returned to the armory, and may no longer be carried by police officers.

Instead, each officer will be issued a 12 gauge pistol-style handgun which will fire up to three rounds of 00 buckshot. This weapon is to be used in all situations where guidlines currently allow use of taser devices.

I feel certain this will reduce the number of citizen complaints about taser usage.

This order is to be implemented immediately.
