On Sen.Carl Levin: WTF does Levin thinks folks are doing to "press" Shrub at all?

Michigan Sen. Carl Levin, the Senate Armed Service Committee chairman, took issue with an effort by Majority Leader Harry Reid to limit war spending after March 2008 as a way to end U.S. involvement.

"We're not going to vote to cut funding, period," Levin said. "But what we should do, and we're going to do, is continue to press this president to put some pressure on the Iraqi leaders to reach a political settlement."

All I see is wimpy talk from Levin to appease the anti-war caucus - and capitulation to rethug PR that NOT supporting Shrub is not supporting the troops. The American people are smarter then that.

I see no pressure at all, no line in the sand, no accountability for maintaining the status quo of a misguided war based on lies.

Yes, right now we don't have the votes to block a veto; but is it not better to lose a vote on principal which holds the rethug obstructionists to the light who refuse to end this tragic war? Mr Levin, what specific pressure has anyone on The Hill exerted which has caused Shrub to alter his crazy ass war mongering ways one damn inch???

Can anyone else answer that?

Kudo's to Russ Feingold for accurately reading the tea leaves on where the Iraq war is going. Sadly, the DEMS will eventually own this war if they continue to walk in fear of voting to reflect the voices of We The People who put them in power last November.
