Obama says Imus comments "divisive, hurtful and offensive."
http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2007/04/sweet_blog_special_obama_says.html

This from Democratic White House contender Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)

“The comments of Don Imus were divisive, hurtful and offensive to Americans of all backgrounds. With a public platform, comes a trust. As far as I'm concerned, he violated that trust,” said U.S. Senator Barack Obama.

1. Capitalize on the comments and get more support.

3. He's spoken out on that too in the past. In South Carolina, in fact.
What's your point?

8. ?
:wow: Are you implying that Obama is a hypocrit because he does like that type of music? If so, why would you think that?

I hope I'm misreading you. If I'm not, this was a really insidiously racist comment.

4. You'd think the guy was running for office
Oh wait.

Anyways, Im impressed with the "style" and verbage his official comments always seem to have.

His campaign message is very well spoken. And I dont mean that in any stupid way.

6. He is right. Will he criticize Senators/prez candidates who make racist jokes as well?
Or does the public trust perversely extend only to talk show hosts with no real power and not those with actual power to affect the lives of people? For those of you who have airbrushed this from your memory, here is a reminder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1Mq8kOXV_E

9. Who spoke out about
this?

Allen was allowed to continue his campaign.

No excuses for Imus, they could have nailed him any day of the week, but the selective outrage is disingenuous.

7. What did he say about the hateful comments about his opponent
Hilary Clinton. Imus' comments were racist, but his comments about Hilary Clinton were truly hateful.

And his comments about the Rutgers team is reason #59 or so why I don't listen or watch him. This ain't the first time, nor even his worst comments. IMO This is all a ploy for the new "nice guy" repackaging of his show coming in.........2 weeks I bet.
