Why aren't the non-medical corporations beating the door down for the public option?
From what I've read their profitably would increase exponentially without the crushing burden of health care. And why aren't the CEOs and shareholders of those organizations beating up big insurance and big pharma over this?

1. Because effective health care legislation would put the GOP in the minority for decades
And in the long term those CEOs benefit FAR more from the Republicans doing their bidding.

Or maybe not. Just a theory.

5. Not to mention losing somthing they can hang over the employees heads
to keep them docile and obedient.

If the unions didn't have to make concessions to keep their members' healthcare, they'd be in a much stonger bargaining position. We can't have labor (union and non-union) getting uppity.

3. That, and..........
Most of them probably also sit on the boards of Med firms, or pharma firms, or whatever.

The cross pollenization at the Corporate exec level is sinfully incestuous.

And I'm sure most of them have made millions off of med stocks of some kind.

That's what it's really about.

Jsut because something might "benefit the company", it doesn't mean that it will automatically benefit the execs.

7. Good answer to a good question!
Until you posted your response, I could not figure out why they are silent on something that will, if passed, greatly reduce the expense side of the 'ledger'.
Your theory is the only one I have heard that makes eminent sense and I bet you are absolutely right.

6. Also, I think Goldman has overrun
the administration and is propagating the meme that drastic health care change will tank the stock market rally.

8. Because the douchebags that run the corps make the big bucks
and are protecting their asses from future taxes.
