Repugs plan to take the axe to high-speed rail funding
via MassTransitMag:

Funds for High-Speed Rail Face Cuts in GOP Amendments to Spending Bill

By Colby Itkowitz
Congressional Quarterly Today

NATION - House Republicans will seek to strip a major increase in high-speed passenger rail funding from the $123.1 billion fiscal 2010 Transportation-HUD spending bill, which lawmakers begin debating on Thursday.

A proposal by Tom Latham, R-Iowa, to cut $3 billion of the proposed $4 billion boost in high-speed rail funding from the bill is among 23 amendments that will be allowed for floor debate. Eighty-five amendments were filed with the committee.

Republicans were again rebuffed in their request to bring the bill to the floor without restrictions on amendments. They say the restrictions on spending bills depart from House tradition and unfairly limit debate. Democrats have argued that GOP stalling tactics have forced their hands.

Overall, the bill (HR 3288) would raise spending by 13 percent over the total enacted in fiscal 2009, although that excludes funding increases for housing and transportation programs that were included in this year's economic stimulus law (PL 111-5). ..........(more)

2. Put a sock in it....
Remember how they secretly passed the Medicare prescription drug program in the middle of the night? Remember how when House Dems wanted to have a "hearing" they were shut down.

Tell the fuckers to shut up and come back when the country cares about their shit.

The nation wants and needs high-speed rail. In EVERY country where this has been successful this has been a result of PUBLIC funding. That is because these projects are huge and take a while to become profitable.

It is clear that the Repukkkes strategy is NO, NO, NO on everything. Although I doubt they would vote now if the bill was to give themselves a raise or give millionares a free pass on all taxes. They would be clamoring to get to the pulpit, er I mean podium to talk about Ronnie "the next to the worst President ever" Reagan and his tax cuts.

Fuck them...Fuck them hard and without any protection. and when they get pregnant no abortions...carry the bastards to term and you pay to raise them..... Take that you Repuke fuckers.
