She didn't rebut him them because of the news of Walter Cronkite's death but refutted him lie by lie the following Monday. I haven't seen him on any program since. I don't expect to see him on Rachel's show, but he hasn't been on Tweety's either. Maybe Faux News would be a better fit.

3. I think he's done.
Even MSGOP has a limit on how much racism it will tolerate. Ole Uncle Pat crossed the line, big time. He's done.

18. I think he's there.
That stuff about white men building this country, only white men died on Omaha Beach, and only whtie people dying during the Civil War was way way over the top. Stick a fork in him.

You are right. He's now gone round the bend with Rachel and there's no turning back. I'll be interested to see if he appears on Morning Joe next week. Hmmm...

8. i was just about to ask the same thing...
i can't imagine he or his employers are feeling any embarrassment or shame...surely morning joe and hardball are just waiting for enough time to pass and people forget ...it must be hard for them to resist right now with the Gates/profiling story so hot the last few days...Pat Buchanon is msnbc's go to guy for incendiary race baiting and I fully expected him to be on ALL DAY LONG today after last night's 'stupidly' comment...it must be killing Matthews not to have had him on today...

9. They're probably just letting him lay low, but
it would've been kind of great to let him have an apocalyptic flame-out over the President's comment about Gates last night to help show him the door for good.

10. Pat Buchanan's been irrelevant ever since he left CNN's Crossfire program in 2000
to make an ill-fated, but ultimately somewhat decisive, run for President.

I don't mean to be unkind, but the guy doesn't have it any more. He's a sorry case. More to be pitied than hated, really...

22. Probably. I am remembering my mother when she was in that state.
She changed, just not being able to respond to questions appropriately, being "out of it" when asked a question, not responding to stimuli.

I felt kind of bad of him actually. Matthews cut the thing short because it seems he knew Liddly wasn't dealing with a full deck of cards...

23. There is an article July 21 in the World Net Daily by him
Predictably it is a pity fest about how WASPs are losing ground in the US.

Why no equity for evangelicals?

When Republicans were warned not to give Sonia Sotomayor the drubbing Democrats gave Robert Bork and Sam Alito – lest they be perceived as sexist and racist by women and Hispanics – the threat was credible, for it underscored a new reality in American politics.

The Supreme Court, far from being the last redoubt of the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant in America, reflects the collapse of that WASP establishment, and a rising racial, ethnic and gender consciousness and solidarity.

Consider: In 45 years, no Democratic president has put a single white Protestant or Catholic man or woman on the court.

Six nominees have been sent to Congress by Democrats since 1964: Thurgood Marshall, an African-American, four Jewish nominees – Arthur Goldberg, Abe Fortas, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer – and one wise Latina woman. Not since JFK put All-American Byron "Whizzer" White on in 1962 have Democrats elevated a white Christian.

31. And no telling how long ago that article was written.
I hope Pat is not just on vacation - I hope he will retire into obscurity forever so we never have to look at his ugly white face again. I don't know how he could hold on to his self-respect and show up on MSNBC again after the drubbing Rachel gave him the other day.

27. Keep an eye on Morning Joe.
I know he's been a frequent guest there. Morning shows are just too awful for me to follow, though the occasional clip -- when selected and disseminated by others, so that I don't have to wade through much morning show dreck -- is worth my while.

28. did you mean that Rachel told lie by lie?
Here's another view from the Freeperish Mr. Somerby

"On Monday night, she found a much better way to proceed, now that Buchanan was no longer present. In one case, she played tape of what Buchanan had said—while deftly editing out his statement that blacks had long been discriminated against. (She did this three times.) And she sadly claimed that he’d said silly things about the U.S. Olympic teams—things he’d neither said nor implied. (Theatrically, she made a big show of “quoting” Buchanan—even though she wasn’t “quoting” him. This was very dishonest.) Most significantly, she did this while Buchanan wasn’t present to define or defend his own viewpoint. Finally! What every hack wants! The chance to write the statements for both persons in a debate! "
